The August issue of the Gustavus Quarterly (Gustavus alumni magazine) is out, and Perry is on the cover, along with two familiar humans. Within are more photos and an article by budding plant essayist Brian O’Brien.This issue of the Quarterly will eventually be available online. Meanwhile, I’ve uploaded images to the blog. Click on the thumbnail images below to access them.
I’m having some trouble uploading the jpeg of the article text at present, but hope to get that to work this evening or tomorrow.

Hi Jon – it’s great to hear from you! I’m glad that you liked the spectacle – it was a wild experience. Check the webcam now and then – we’re waiting for the leaf to begin to grow. Once that happens, it will be its own spectacle, since we anticipate that it will grow rapidly and will be gigantic.
