Titan Arum Measurement, April 4, 2007

Alex helping with measurmentsMy student Alex Burum and I are doing a series of measurements, with Alex and a meter stick as scaling objects, at approximately two-day intervals (more accurate measurements are also being made during each session). The current photo was taken on April 10, 2007 - click on the thumbnail for a larger version. I’ll update this series periodically.

I also have a number of photos taken over the past year, as well as a collection of photos from previous years; I plan to post a selection of those soon. In addition, a video of the process of the last unpotting of the corm (May 2006), complete with suddenly-bursting pot, is planned for this site, once editing is complete.

See the Titan Arum webcam for a live look at the plant. The image is renewed at five-minute intervals.
